When we’re working towards recovery, one of the most important things we can do is reprogram our subconscious mind, which governs 95% of our reality –the majority of our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, patterns and cycles. It is basically the foundation for our manifestation. It’s where all of our emotional information is stored – our fears, our emotions, our memories. There are some simple but powerful ways to reprogram the subconscious. The written word is one. The subconscious mind can interpret the written word without filtering it through all the usual fears and mental drama of the ego mind. In other words, it can take the written word and process it in its pure form. When we write down the things we want for ourselves, we’re helping them to permeate our subconscious mind so that we can start attracting them into our reality.
In addition to the written word, the subconscious loves repetition. That’s why we’re encouraged to repeat affirmations. Repeat positive statements in the present tense to reflect the things and experiences you want to have, the qualities you want to possess, the reality you want to manifest.
The subconscious mind also responds really well to visualization. Manifestation is not about forcing things to happen, it’s about feeling how we want to feel so that we can be in vibrational harmony with the things we want. If we want love, we have to be in vibrational harmony with love. if we want abundance, we have to match it vibrationally. Use visualization to help you get into vibrational harmony with whatever it is you want to manifest. Imagine yourself living the life you want to live, with the people you love, doing the things you want to do.
It’s helpful to know that we can access our subconscious mind most easily when we’re in a relaxed state, so when we’re meditating, as we’re waking up and while falling asleep are key times to work with it.
